A SPECIAL CLASSROOM COLLABORATION BRINGS A NEW MENU ITEM TO LIFE
The Cherry Cricket got a delicious dose of student creativity thanks to a special burger competition hosted in partnership with the Colorado Restaurant Association’s ProStart program. ProStart—an innovative high school hospitality curriculum—invited students to step into the role of chef and craft their own signature burger for The Cherry Cricket’s popular Burger of the Month menu.
After an impressive showcase of flavors and originality, the top honors went to a talented team of young culinarians from Overland High School. Their winning burger wowed judges with its balanced flavors, thoughtful construction, and restaurant-ready presentation.
The event not only highlighted Colorado’s rising culinary talent, but also demonstrated the power of hands-on learning. Through ProStart, students gain real-world experience in the hospitality industry, and this competition gave them a chance to see their ideas come to life in a professional kitchen.
